A carjacking of a C7 Corvette Tuesday morning in Chicago ended with a fiery crash and the arrest of the alleged thief as he tried to make his get-away from police.
Consistent with Illinois State Police, the crash took place at the ramp from I-57 to the Bishop Ford Highway as Nation Membership Hills police had been chasing a 2015 Corvette that were carjacked previous Tuesday morning.
The Corvette headed onto the northbound lanes of I-57, then crashed and burst into flames within the grass subsequent to the ramp from I-57 to the eastbound lanes of the Bishop Ford Highway round 9:15 a.m.
Video from the scene posted on cbsnews.com displays the Chicago Fireplace Division dousing water at the Corvette, which will slightly be identified during the simmering smoke and intensive harm to the frame.
Illinois State Police say the suspect using the Corvette suffered minor accidents within the crash and was once taken into custody. They don’t assume any individual else was once concerned within the crime.
